At rapid pace companies, countries, and educated consumers are choosing to turn their backs on glyphosate and the toxic herbicide (in which it is the main ingredient), RoundUp. No doubt the World Health Organization’s (WHO) declaration that glyphosate is “probably carcinogenic” has caused the biotech giant to experience massive profit losses, but according to many sources, it should be shelved for good reason!
Not only has glyphosate been linked with birth defects and neurological issues, some studies even deem it to be cancerous!
And this Danish professor agrees. Philippe Grandjean, professor of environmental medicine at the University of Southern Denmark, commented:
“We know that glyphosate causes cancer in other mammals, but it has not been demonstrated in humans. This is because the effects have not been investigated thoroughly enough in people yet. But when we see that other mammals get cancer from glyphosate, we must assume that people who are exposed to the substance can also develop cancer.”
According to the report which recently made headlines in the Danish news outlet Nyhederne, the Danish Working Environment Authority (WEA) has declared glyphosate a carcinogen. In effect of this classification, they have recommended a change to less toxic chemicals.
In addition, Professor Grandjea is urging Danish gardeners to stop using Roundup on their flowers, vegetables, and herbs immediately.
